Heavy steel, honest airflow, holds a clean 275°F all afternoon, and maybe tomorrow, too.

How it Kept Our Barbecue Safe

This is a solid smoker.

And by solid, we mean in every sense of the word. The Pitmaker Safe would probably as adept at storing and protecting valuables as it is at holding dear your temp for brisket.

The Pitmaker Safe is the smaller sibling of the Pitmaker Vault. Both are reverse flow cabinet smokers of the highest caliber.

I ended up buying this pit for my backyard setup. It has a little bit of a learning curve, that frankly, was me learning not to force the pit into behavior I wanted. It does what it does and it does it well, but it's not the most flexible pit out there. If you can live with 240-270, you're golden. I had spent years running at 225 and wanted to fight the higher temp. In the end, I haven't seen a real difference in the quality, but the Safe runs so consistently once you learn how to get it going. I'll also say, the gang at Pitmaker is terrific and they will help you get started, customize your pit, or just answer random questions.
