Pitmaster TrippPitmasterJuly 15, 2026I ended up buying this pit for my backyard setup. It has a little bit of a learning curve, that frankly, was me learning not to force the pit into behavior I wanted. It does what it does and it does it well, but it's not the most flexible pit out there. If you can live with 240-270, you're golden. I had spent years running at 225 and wanted to fight the higher temp. In the end, I haven't seen a real difference in the quality, but the Safe runs so consistently once you learn how to get it going. I'll also say, the gang at Pitmaker is terrific and they will help you get started, customize your pit, or just answer random questions.
